Private Chef & Catering

Keep your fork. The best is yet to come.

The four elements

Salt, fat, acid, heat.

Every great dish comes down to four elements. Bring them into balance and simple ingredients become something unforgettable.

Salt

Wakes up flavor and makes every ingredient taste more like itself.

Fat

Carries flavor and gives a dish its richness and texture.

Acid

Brightens, balances and cuts through richness.

Heat

Transforms. It builds the crust, the caramelization and the depth.

Of the four, salt comes first. It does far more than make food taste salty. It draws out natural sweetness, softens bitterness and brings every other flavor into focus. Too little and a dish falls flat. Seasoned with care, everything on the plate comes alive.

Premium ingredients

Every menu starts with the finest ingredients, each one chosen for what it brings to the dish: quality, flavor and even health benefits. We never cook with seed oils, and we keep refined sugars to a minimum.

No seed oils, ever

Every dish, every course. No canola, soybean, sunflower or other seed oils in our kitchen.

Hospitality first

The food matters, and so does the evening. Your guests are looked after from the first pour to the last bite.

The why

Why we’re called Salt

For thousands of years, salt has been used to preserve food and make it last. Long before refrigeration, it protected meat and fish from spoiling, carrying food through long journeys and changing seasons. But salt does more than preserve. It brings out the natural flavors of everything it touches, letting good ingredients truly shine.

In the Bible, Jesus calls his followers “the salt of the earth.” To be the salt of the earth is to live with goodness, honesty and purpose, and to be a positive influence on the people around you. That’s the standard we strive for in our kitchen and at your table: preserving the goodness of real ingredients, bringing out their best flavors, and creating food meant to be shared.

Simple ingredients. Thoughtfully prepared. Made to bring people together.

How we cook with it

To flavor

The right salt at the right moment makes every ingredient taste more like itself.

To cure

We cure our own bacon in salt, the way chefs have for thousands of years.

To bake

We salt-bake whole fish. The crust seals in moisture and seasons the fish gently all the way through.
